If it is just a BT pole (and not owned by an electricity supplier) and there are no longer any wires coming from/going to it I'd be inclined to remove it myself and not say anything. Telegraph poles will never completely disappear they are being reused to fit on fibre optic cables I think when the copper network is completely retired they will remove all copper drop cables.
